Grid-Connected Solar PV for Homes & BusinessesAn on-grid solar PV system is designed to supply electricity during daylight hours and reduce the amount of electricity drawn from the grid. System size, connection requirements and operation are determined by site conditions and applicable utility requirements. In Abu Dhabi, systems are designed for zero-export where required.
For grid-connected solar PV projects, Solunova provides system design, installation and project coordination. Where utility approvals, NOCs or grid connection are required, we coordinate the process through TAQA-approved partners and the relevant authorities. System design and operation are subject to applicable utility requirements, including zero-export requirements where applicable.
An on-grid solar UAE installation is an elegant, low-maintenance solution for urban villas and commercial facilities:
Daytime Solar Use: Solar generation is used on site during daylight hours, reducing electricity drawn from the grid.
Zero-Export Control: Where required, export control limits PV output to avoid exporting electricity to the utility grid.
Grid Support: When solar generation is lower than site demand, the property continues to draw electricity from the grid.
An on-grid solar system operates alongside the public utility grid. During daylight hours, solar PV supplies available on-site loads and reduces electricity drawn from the grid. When solar generation is lower than demand, the grid supplies the balance.
For projects subject to zero-export requirements, the solar system is configured with export control so that generated electricity is used on site and is not exported to the utility grid. Final system requirements depend on the project location and the relevant utility process.
Approval requirements vary by project location and scope. In Abu Dhabi, where utility coordination is required, Solunova works with TAQA-approved partners and the relevant authorities to support documentation, technical requirements and project coordination.
